Management Team

The GERS department is headed by a management team (office) composed of its manager (C. Chevalier), a assistant manager (E. Gaume) and three assistants ( O. Abraham, B. Béchet, L. Thorel) who assist the manager in his representative missions at the department's main sites or in certain tasks: geotechnical coordination (L. Thorel), international action (O. Abraham), relations with I-SITE FUTURE (B. Béchet).

The administrative and financial management of the department is handled by an administrative manager (A. Coulon-Toutain). The management team is supported by a number of project managers and correspondents who assist the director with specific tasks as outlined in the organisational chart.

Executive Committee

The management committee is made up of the management team and the research team leaders, and, depending on the subject matter, the department's project managers and correspondents. It meets once a month.

The management committee is the department's management and coordination structure. It is the forum for information, reviewing files (budget, recruitment, promotions and bonuses), drawing up collective schedules, strategic thinking and preparing decisions. Final decisions are made by the department manager.

Departmental Council

The departmental council comprises the executive committee and seven staff representatives (elected and selected at random). Since September 2024, the executive committee and the departmental council have merged and meet once a month.

The departmental council is an advisory body to which important issues concerning the scientific and administrative life of the department must be submitted (allocation of funds, human resources management, contracts, promotion, training through research, strategy).
